The game provides you with 25 famous characters for you to choose from, 44 maps to fight in and 2 game modes being Solo and Group:. In Solo mode, you can head into training mode to figure out the skills of each character and learn to get good at the characters that you like while getting to know the maps. Secondly, you can head into the Events mode to participate and complete 5 challenges in this mode. Lastly, you can head into Stadium mode to see how long it takes to complete the target breaking challenge. There are 5 levels in Stadium with the targets getting smaller, harder to hit and the maps getting more complicated after each level.

In Group mode, up to 4 players can compete in a single match and you can choose either a team battle or a free-for-all. In team battle mode, 2 teams will fight against each other while in free-for-all mode, everyone fights on their own. After picking a mode, you use the mouse and drag your player icon to the character that you want to choose, and after everyone has finish choosing their character, press Space to begin the match.

At the end of each match, the game will let you know specific information such as the number of KOs you dealt to your opponents, the amount of damage caused and received, the number of times you dropped off the stage. And tally up the score for each player. This game also allows you to customize a lot of things before a match like the time limit, stock, damage ratio, item frequency, start damage, the types of items that can appear in the match. And you can pick the Random option when selecting a character or map. The game allows you to save your data on your PC so that you can come back to it at anytime without worrying that you’ll have to start over by choosing the save file that you saved to. The game supports up to 4 players so you can either play with your friends or play with CPUs.
