Game Mar Heaven Ps2

Wrath of Heaven marks a return to form for Activision's classic ninja simulator. The third entry in the popular stealth action franchise, Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven allows players to take on the role of three different characters as they sneak and fight their way through locations all over Japan. Utilize more than 20 authentic ninja weapons and tools and experience the all-new stealth attacks and enhanced fighting engine. String together single maneuvers to master new combo attacks and earn additional abilities and combos by racking up muffled kills. Players can also experience co-op gameplay by teaming up with a friend on five unique multiplayer levels, and complete unique mission objectives including espionage, theft and assassination. PS2 Reviews Mar 4, 2003 While stealth is not a terribly original or recent video game innovation (witness the original Metal Gear, all the way back in 1987), it's fair to say that the concept came into its own during the PlayStation generation. Advances in 3D graphics made it possible to render more realistic environments that were full of nooks and crannies in which to hide - perfect for stealthy gameplay.

One of the more popular stealth-based games of this era was Tenchu: Stealth Assassins. It featured a unique mix of mundane realism and supernatural ninja mysticism, creating a shinobi simulation that was truly in a class of its own. Unfortunately, its sequel got bogged down in trying to be too realistic, and that was the end of Tenchu's PlayStation lifespan. PS2 Previews Jan 28, 2003 The idea of sneaking around in games is nothing new, but stealth gameplay really came into its own with the advent of the 32-bit generation. Leading the way was a game called Tenchu, which completely redefined the ninja gaming experience with its unique mix of stealth, realism, Japanese folklore and supernatural tomfoolery. It was really cool stuff (and incidentally, I'm still looking to get a personal copy of the original release). Unfortunately, the series suffered a bit of a setback with the release of Tenchu 2, one of those sad sequels that fails to live up to its predecessor.

Now, Activision is looking to return to the glory of the original game with its first next-generation Tenchu adventure. Sporting a slick new engine and a new development team, Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven looks set to propel the series back into both the critical and popular limelights.
